Senior AJ Hoke is taking his radio talents nationwide as one of a handful of finalists in College Broadcasters International’s (CBI) radio and TV competition. Hoke, a Media Communication and Public Relations double major, produced a four-minute radio documentary on the topic of stress in the lives of college students
The stress he experienced producing the piece for his Radio Production class paid off when he learned last summer he is one of final four. The other finalists in the Best Documentary/Public Affairs category are from Marshall University, Nanyang Technological University, and Seton Hall University.
Hoke says, “I’m really proud that my piece was selected as a finalist. I put a lot of hours into it, and I feel like the topic and the information it presents can be beneficial to a wide variety of people.”
Dr. Mark Perry, Assistant Professor of Communication and Advisor to 94.3 The Fortress (WIWU-FM), says, “I’m extremely proud of AJ’s work. His documentary is excellent both in content and production quality. It is always rewarding when that quality is recognized outside of IWU. The winner will be announced October 27-30th at the annual CBI Convention in Orlando, FL.
