2018 Orr Fellow Tanner Brumbarger

Mar. 15, 2018

Indiana Wesleyan University senior Tanner Brumbarger has been named a 2018 Orr Fellow. The Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship is a program that selects top seniors from institutions in Indiana and Ohio for a two-year fellowship and career placement at a variety of growing companies in Indianapolis. With over 1,000 applicants every year, the fellowship is a highly competitive post-grad experience with an average acceptance rate of only 6 percent.

Brumbarger, a Marketing and Business Administration major, will be employed at Indianapolis-based Formstack for two years following his graduation this spring. The company, founded in 2006, is a data management solution that helps users collect information through various types of online forms. Although Brumbarger has not yet received his official position, he will likely be working on Formstack’s customer operations team. In addition to his full-time job, Brumbarger will be participating in the Orr Fellowship curriculum, networking with the local business community and developing his skills as a professional.

“I’m absolutely stoked to be a part of the Orr community and to participate in such a great program,” said Brumbarger, a resident of Westfield, Indiana. “I’m excited to see what type of learning experiences I’ll get to partake in and what great problems I’ll get to help solve. It’s going to be great to just be a sponge and absorb as much as I can in my first year out of college.”

In addition to Brumbarger, IWU has seen nine other alumni accepted into the Orr Fellowship: Nicole Schneider ’17 at Lessonly, Jake Smith ‘15 at SupplyKick, Dylan Bronkema ‘15 at Roche, and Kenny Hall ‘15 at KAR Auction Services, Jordan Easley ’13 at TinderBox, Mitch Causey ’11 at DigitalRelevance, Corey Kime ’10 at Compendium, Amber Mohling ’09 at Compendium and Teresa Becker ’09 at ExactTarget.

“Tanner is someone who impressed me when he was looking at IWU as a prospective student,” said Dr. Harriet Rojas, chair, DeVoe Division of Business. “I knew he would do well in his future endeavors. This young man has tremendous energy and it is exciting to see what opportunities will come his way as our newest Orr Fellow.” For more information on the Orr Fellowship, visit orrfellowship.org.
