What is Design for Social Impact
Design for Social Impact equips students to be agents of change through “people first” design thinking. It will engage students in private, civic, and community partnerships to create solutions to persistent social problems. It is a holistic approach to the design of systems, places, and spaces. It prepares and empowers students to listen, connect and then create.
“People first” design can do any or all these things: animate public and private spaces, rejuvenate structures and streetscapes, improve local business viability and public safety, protect and restore environment… all of which brings diverse people together to celebrate, inspire, and be inspired.
