Hello! My name is Emery Brough, and I am super excited to be serving as your Admissions Counselor. I am from Indianapolis, born and raised! I grew up in Greenwood, just on the south side of Indy, and moved up to Brownsburg, on the west side of the city, prior to my senior year of high school. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in April of 2022, with a degree in Media Communication. I was also a member of the football team here at IWU for all four years. I hope this exciting chapter of your life will be filled with many blessings and joy, and I am honored to walk alongside you on this journey through the admissions process! Please contact me if you have any questions, and I’d love to serve you in any way possible!
My favorite thing about IWU is the community. As a student and employee at this university, I am constantly surrounded by those who love me and have a love for God! Being around people who are passionate in their faith and their relationships is a thing of beauty, and you find it everywhere on this campus.
My favorite things to do on campus are attend sporting events and connecting with friends and coworkers.
I love being an admissions counselor because I have the privilege to help guide a person through one of the most incredible times of their life. God has a specific calling for each one of us, and I am honored to help each student find their calling and assist them with anything they need during the admissions process.
IWU is special/unique because the faculty here truly care about you beyond the classroom. I’ve been to homes of my professors for meals and celebrations, and they constantly check in on me even post-graduation and make me a priority in their lives!
My greatest inspiration is Ernie Johnson, Jr. As someone with a dream of sports broadcasting, Ernie has been someone I have looked up to in both the profession and his livelihood. I had the pleasure of meeting Ernie my sophomore year of college, and he is as genuine and likeable as he is on TV! He lives so faithfully and has an incredible story to tell, and most of all, he loves God so well!
My favorite hobbies include playing fetch and walking my dog, Ollie, playing golf, watching football, and being around those I love.
One piece of advice I’d give to a prospective student is to PRAY! You can never do enough praying. Pray about your decision, pray that God’s will be done in your life and that he can reveal His plans for you, which He will! Whenever you get overwhelmed, just relax, breathe, and pray to God and cast your cares on the Lord!
