Serving students in central IN
Hello! My name is Arielle McLaurin and I am beyond excited to be serving as your Admissions Counselor. I am originally from Gary, Indiana, but I’ve called Indianapolis home for the past 18 years. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2020 with a degree in Media Communications. I hope the chapter you are about to embark on is going to be filled with so many blessings, and I am so privileged to have the opportunity to not only walk alongside you but to help you navigate through your college decision process. Please let me know how I can serve you during this time.
The unapologetic boldness for sharing God's love and truth in everyday things. I love how the university connects God to every class and subject. “Who knew that God could be connected to a math class?”
Sitting in the Student Center for hours connecting and creating bonds with old and new friends.
I love being in this role because I get the privilege to match a person’s dream and the calling God has for them together as they navigate through their college experience.
IWU is special because the staff and faculty make it a priority to make you a PRIORITY!
My mother is my biggest inspiration. Over the years, I’ve watched my single mom not only overcome many obstacles, but I’ve seen her defy every stereotype that might keep her captive from pursuing her dreams. She managed to achieve them all. She is consistently pushing my sister and me to not just change the world we live in, but to be the change the world needs - and for that, she is my hero. Another thing that inspires me in my life is seeing women and men who look like me defying all odds.
I love traveling to new and old places with friends, discovering new music, watching interior (fashion) design/ reality shows and dancing like no one is watching.
“Breathe! You got this.” Make sure you take time to celebrate your accomplishments and to discover who you are and what you want to do in this next journey. Lastly, make sure that universities that are on your radar, celebrate your character, cherish your belonging, and challenge you for great academic success.
