The steps to revitalizing a church are not always self-evident. A group of well-meaning members will have difficulty analyzing the health of their church, diagnosing its problems, and prescribing an appropriate intervention. Consequently, Wesley Seminary designed this certificate program to equip volunteers and professional church leaders to better understand the process of congregational assessment and revitalization. The four courses that comprise this specialization will equip participants to apply these insights in their own churches, or to use them as coaches, mentors, or consultants with other congregations. You will also deepen your biblical, theological and church history knowledge while expanding your ministry skills.

Whether you are doing the specialization as part of the Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Ministry programs or as a certificate, it is designed to be done “on the run” while you are serving or volunteering in ministry.
