Master of Arts

Our Master of Arts (MA) is a streamlined 36 hour Master of Arts in Ministry degree with eighteen hours of core classes and eighteen hours of electives. Students may choose to take four electives in a given field and receive a specialization in either Children, Youth & Family MinistryChurch Planting and MultiplicationChurch RevitalizationLeadership, Pastoral Ministry, or Worship Arts. Our specializations are designed to be done “on the run” whether you are already in a parachurch or church ministry, or whether you are sensing God might be calling you to some sort of ministry.

Seminary classes take place in a cohort model, which means you begin your degree together on campus at orientation and then proceed through the twelve eight-week classes of the degree until you graduate together. This model not only helps motivate you to keep going; it creates a spiritual and relational bond with fellow pilgrims on the journey with whom you can rejoice, struggle, and to whom you can be accountable.

Wesley Seminary is blessed to work with partners in various ways to offer the Master of Arts in Ministry degree.

12Stone Church in the Atlanta, GA, area is known for, among other things, leadership development. Students can begin their MA in Ministry by taking a one-week course at 12Stone Church and through the partnership will return to take a second one year later. Current students can take these courses as electives.

Heartland Church and the Bishop Tom Benjamin are both pillars of the Indianapolis community. Through partnerships with each, Wesley Seminary is offering the MA in Ministry in a multi-cultural ministry learning format.

Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa, has committed to raising up leadership that will impact the Kingdom of God in Iowa. Wesley Seminary has partnered with them to offer the MA in Ministry with four courses taught in Iowa.
