Indiana Wesleyan University-National & Global (IWU) is proud to support the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) by awarding a full-tuition scholarship to two members, Angela Ash and Jeremy Pilgrim, enabling them to pursue a degree in their chosen field and advance their career beyond their military service. Ash, who serves in the Air National Guard in Nevada, will pursue her bachelor’s degree and Pilgrim, who serves in the Air National Guard in Mississippi, will pursue his master’s. The scholarships are part of an ongoing partnership between IWU and EANGUS to provide educational opportunities for men and women in the National Guard and their families.
“We are proud to award these two scholarships to Angela and Jeremy as a very small token of our recognition and appreciation for all they have done and continue to do in service to our country,” says Rob Stanley, executive director of online and student success at IWU-National & Global. “Completing these college degrees will allow Senior NCO leaders like Angela and Jeremy to continue positively impacting others even after their uniforms come off. They will be equipped to lead organizations and influence others through their character, scholarship and leadership."
According to EANGUS’s website, the non-profit organization was formally organized in 1972 with the goal of increasing the voice of enlisted persons in the National Guard. As such, EANGUS is dedicated to the principles of providing an adequate national defense and promoting the status, welfare, and professionalism of the men and women of the Army and Air National Guard by supporting legislation that provides adequate staffing, pay, benefits, entitlements, equipment and installations for the National Guard.
IWU is honored to serve military service members, veterans, and eligible family members by developing partnerships and creating unique degree pathways that allow military training to count toward degree credit. IWU also offers military preferred tuition and works with students to help them apply tuition assistance (TA) benefits toward their degrees.
