Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is pleased to announce its 12th-place ranking on Newsweek and Statista’s list of America’s Top Online Colleges 2023. Out of 200 colleges and universities recognized in this year’s list, IWU is honored to be among the top names, improving from 37th place in Newsweek’s 2022 selections.
“I’m very proud of this recognition for our school,” says IWU President Dr. Jon Kulaga. “This is a huge testament to our incredible staff, faculty and students who put in the hard work to make our programs among the top in the nation. It’s an honor to be recognized by Newsweek, and we plan to build on that success by developing new, innovative learning pathways to glorify God and cultivate world changers for His Kingdom.”
Finalists for America's Top Online Colleges 2023 list are scored based on an online survey with over 11,400 assessments from more than 9,000 respondents that participated in online college degree programs and/or general online learning courses in the United States. According to Newsweek and Statista, respondents shared their experiences by rating the institutions regarding several criteria, including organization and accessibility, support and service, cost of program, perceived organizational reputation, expected success and practical relevance of contents. The evaluation criteria also included institutional indicators, overall satisfaction with the organization and to what extent they would recommend it to others.
In addition to being named 12th on the list overall, IWU is the highest-ranked private, Christian university on the list. With more than 160 online programs, IWU offers a wide array of practical, relevant degrees for online learners. Its unique term structure enables students to enroll at multiple points throughout the year and jump right into program requirements – often by taking one class at a time so they don’t need to disrupt their already-busy schedules. Additionally, IWU’s generous transfer policy enables students to apply previously earned credits toward their degree to reduce their time to completion.
