IWU-National & Global continues to blaze the trail of innovative, accessible education with the launch of two online/on-site hybrid bachelor’s degrees based at the Kokomo Thriving Center in Kokomo, Indiana. Students can now enroll in a Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling or a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a specialization in life coaching, both of which offer a flexible, hybrid learning format.
“With completely online programs, it’s harder for students to discuss their problems and challenges with peers and professors,” says Dr. Jon Sampson, vice president for enterprise development & regional ventures at IWU. “Our hybrid programs eliminate barriers to connection, while also providing the flexibility of online coursework. Each class offers regular opportunities for in-person discussion, practice and networking at the Kokomo Thriving Center.”
The Kokomo Thriving Center hybrid programs meet in-person one time per class, with the remaining coursework occurring online. The Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling is a faith-based degree program that equips practitioners to serve people and families struggling with the effects of addiction, and the Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a specialization in life coaching prepares students to sit for licensure through the International Coaching Federation. Both programs are faith-based and can be completed within two years.
“We’re excited to host these hybrid programs at the Kokomo Thriving Center,” says Liz Kerns, Director of Venture Development for the Kokomo Thriving Center. “Both degrees will equip people in our area to better serve others and make a lasting impact on their communities.”
IWU's Kokomo Thriving Center is located on Markland Ave (State Road 22), one block east of State Road 931 in Kokomo in Howard County.
