MARION, Ind. (May 2, 2022) — IWU-National & Global is excited to announce the launch of its Bachelor of Science in Service & Leadership. This versatile degree equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a lasting impact in a variety of career fields, including human relations, human services, human resources, criminal justice, management, finance and healthcare administration.
“Many students enter our leadership programs because they’ve experienced poor leadership in the past – and they want to do better,” says Dr. Mark Rennaker, chair of the Department of Leadership Studies. “This degree gives students the opportunity to focus on content areas that interest them, allowing them to engage more deeply in what it means to lead, serve and make a difference within their context.”
Students who enroll in the B.S. of Service & Leadership can transfer up to 90 previously earned credits from a variety of disciplines, which can accelerate degree completion and save money. The degree is also designed to appeal to active-duty military and veterans because of how easily credits from a Joint Service Transcript (JST) or the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) can be applied toward degree completion.
Traditional academic programs offer limited opportunities for customization, but the Bachelor of Science in Service & Leadership expands students’ leadership capabilities in the focus area of their choice, allowing them to choose 18 credit hours from seven different career fields.
