IWU-National & Global’s newest program, a Bachelor of Science in Global Security & Strategy Management, provides military students with the unique opportunity to count their military experience towards a degree.
This program, specifically designed to incorporate military training credits towards a fast-track bachelor’s degree, allows military service members to transfer up to 90 credits. Students can complete the degree in as little as one year, entirely online.
This program was designed in part by K.C. Haight, the executive director of military relations for IWU-National & Global in collaboration with the DeVoe School of Business and School of Service and Leadership. Haight’s own military background brought a new perspective and innovation to meet a need for military service members.
“It took me more than 20 years to get a college to consider a degree program that allowed for maximum military credit transfer and savings – IWU saw value in this program and breathed life into it,” Haight said. “IWU embraced the concept of a stackable degree to allow even greater flexibility and choice to our nation’s warriors.”
Additionally, the course content was created to meet the needs that globalization has created. A degree with courses in political security, economics, culture, strategy and leadership is uncommon in the marketplace.
“This program provides students the ability to lead people while managing policies and processes through the lens of security and strategy in both private and public sectors,” Dean of DeVoe School of Business, Dr. Christopher Davis, said. “Today’s organizations are better positioned when their people possess knowledge, skills and abilities in strategy management, leadership, communication, geopolitics, culture and ethics.”
