Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) announced today that it has promoted Dr. Eileen Hulme as the next chancellor of IWU-National & Global Campus. Dr. Hulme will assume the role as of February 4, 2022. This campus provides online and other non-residential academic programs to learners across the United States and internationally.
Hulme will succeed Dr. Matt Lucas, who will be leaving IWU after serving in the Chancellor role for the past five years. Hulme is a highly accomplished higher education executive with nearly three decades of experience. She joined the IWU-National & Global leadership team in 2020 as the Vice President for Enterprise Development and Regional Strategy, working on developing strategic partnerships and aligning learning opportunities to match local and regional economic and social service needs.
"I am deeply humbled to be called to serve as the Chancellor of IWU-National & Global, and I am thrilled to be working with a talented leadership team and a dedicated faculty and staff," said Hulme. "IWU-National & Global has nearly a forty-year legacy of meeting the demands of the marketplace and reaching non-traditional students with programs designed to help them achieve their goals. Dr. Lucas has created a strong foundation and innovative strategies that I will continue to nurture and enhance. IWU-National & Global has a very bright future ahead of it.
Prior to coming to IWU, Hulme distinguished herself while serving in a variety of executive and leadership roles, including the Chief Acceleration Officer and Associate Vice President for Professional and Graduate Student Enrollment at Warner Pacific University, Vice president for student life at Baylor University, and Vice President for Student Life and Chief Information Officer at George Fox University to name a few. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Texas, a Master of Arts in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University, and her Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University.
"IWU is fortunate to have an executive of Dr. Hulme's considerable skill and experience to assume the leadership of this important part of our university. Dr. Hulme has proven herself to be an innovative and creative leader with successful tenures at multiple institutions. She is highly respected across the industry as a gifted educator and an outstanding university executive," said Dr. David Wright, President of IWU. "We remain deeply committed to the success of IWU-National & Global. I am fully confident in its future under the leadership that Dr. Hulme will provide."
Hulme has received many awards and accolades throughout her career, including being a Fulbright Scholar, Administrator of the Year, and recipient of the Chase Sawtell Inspirational Faculty Award at Azusa Pacific University.
The chancellor serves as the chief administrative officer of the IWU-National & Global Campus. This campus serves more than 8,000 students at 11 education centers in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio and online students who come from the United States and more than 30 countries.
