Indiana Wesleyan University is excited to announce the first annual Life Calling Conference. This one-day event will include practical tools and resources that high school counselors, administrators, and career educators can use to support their students as they pursue purpose, meaning, and self-knowledge.
The conference will take place on May 26th on IWU’s campus and is the perfect opportunity for participants to jump into the ideas of calling and purpose as a way to develop students beyond the classroom. It will highlight research-backed approaches to discovering a person’s calling. Participants will leave with practical tools and resources to fuel discussions of self-discovery with students.
While calling is often associated with a faith background, this conference is designed for anyone, no matter their religious affiliations. Research has found that those who can identify a calling have higher levels of meaning and purpose, leading to greater engagement and life satisfaction. During the conference, we will dive into these concepts and how high schools can get started using this purpose discovery process with their students.
Before students can identify their ‘what or why’ for their lives, they need to discover ‘who’ they are. This conference will examine ways to deepen students’ understanding of themselves, acquire tools to increase self-awareness, and discover the foundational pieces that empower student thriving.
Attendance is limited and CDC guidelines for Covid19 will be observed.
