Indiana Wesleyan University-National & Global has selected Matthew Barber, Ph.D., to serve as assistant dean of the DeVoe School of Business effective July 1, 2020.
Barber’s responsibilities include academic and operational oversight, program development, accreditation and developing and advancing the strategic plan for DeVoe.
"I am confident that Dr. Barber will be a thoughtful advocate for the DeVoe School of Business. I look forward to working with him as he moves into this new leadership responsibility," said Christopher Davis, Ph.D., dean of the DeVoe School of Business.
Prior to being named assistant dean, Barber served IWU as regional director of Southern Ohio, adjunct instructor, assistant professor, department chair and, most recently, interim dean of DeVoe. Before coming to IWU, Barber worked as a research associate at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center from 2005-2013.
Barber earned his B.S. in business administration from Northern Kentucky University, his master of health services administration from Xavier University, and his Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.
"I’m honored to be given the opportunity to serve in this capacity, and with the help of our team, hope to continue the work of making the DeVoe School of Business a place where students can come and be developed into Christ-centered business leaders within their communities," Barber said.
