UReCA: The NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, has appointed Isabel Bostick, a student in Indiana Wesleyan University’s John Wesley Honors College, as an Associate Editor for the 2020-2021 publication cycle.

She is also involved in the Marion community and volunteers with Circles of Grant County.
“To have been selected for an editorship at a respected national journal like UreCA is such an accomplishment,” Dr. Lanta Davis, one of Isabel’s Honors professors, said. “We are proud of Isabel for many reasons, and we celebrate when others see and affirm the gifts we see in our students.”
Isabel is looking forward to the position, which she said will give her valuable experience and a taste of what an editing career could be like. She is especially excited to meet her fellow student editors and join a community of students from across the nation who share her passions.
UReCA provides a publication venue for undergraduates with works that make a significant contribution to their respective fields of study and can be anything from microbiology to musical composition. UReCA Associate Editors review submitted works within their fields of expertise, deciding which pieces will be published and contributing to the success of the journal in various ways. Through an online platform, UReCA encourages interdisciplinary creative activity and research among undergraduates in the United States and abroad.
Selections for the editorial staff are made based on previous editorial experience or a demonstrated dedication to research. This year, the journal received more applications than ever before, and Isabel was among the most accomplished students.
Sponsored by the National Collegiate Honors Council, UReCA is an online, peer-reviewed journal that fosters the exchange of intellectual and creative work between undergraduate students, providing a platform where students can engage with and contribute to the advancement of their individual fields.
