Indiana Wesleyan University will host the 10th annual Gaither Songwriting Intensive June 4 – 7, 2020. The event invites attendees to delve into the art of songwriting and learn from award-winning Christian artist Gloria Gaither and other distinguished songwriters.
Registration is now open for this workshop which is geared toward those who are serious about delving into the craft of songwriting and want to learn from some of the most accomplished clinicians around. To register, visit indwes.edu/songwriting-intensive.
The outstanding roster of clinicians for this year’s Songwriting Intensive include:
- Gloria Gaither- Award-winning Christian songwriter who has written more than 700 songs with her husband, Bill.
- Becky Nordquist-Worship leader, songwriter, recording artist, speaker and author who brings an eclectic feel to worship and Christian Contemporary music through a blend of pop, gospel and folk.
- Aaron Shust-GMA Dove Awards 2007 Songwriter of the Year and winner of the Song of the Year award for “My Savior My God”.
- Todd Syswerda-Professor of Music and head of the Songwriting major at IWU.
“Building relationships with various artists in the field of songwriting was, is, and will continue to be a hallmark of what this event is,” said Todd Syswerda, Professor of Music and head of the Songwriting program at IWU. “I truly believe that IWU's reputation was not only strengthened but will spread to areas we have yet to reach as we had attendees from all over the world.”
IWU is very proud to partner with Gloria Gaither in curriculum development for the undergraduate songwriting degree program. As host for the Songwriting Intensive, students who are songwriting majors are able to volunteer and attend the majority of sessions.
