On Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., IWU-National & Global will host Jerrod Wilson, Fort Wayne local and one of Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s 40 under 40, at the Kachmann Auditorium in Lutheran Hospital, 7950 W Jefferson Blvd.
First Fridays are free monthly leadership seminars that create opportunities for local leaders, entrepreneurs and students to network and grow.
“We have selected Jarrod Wilson to be our November First Fridays speaker for several reasons,” Jere Johnson, a corporate representative for IWU-National & Global and First Fridays planner, said. “He is one of Fort Wayne’s up and coming leaders and a graduate from IWU’s Leadership Fort Wayne program. His leadership and educational journey will encourage those who attend. We are very excited to have Jerrod educate, encourage and empower our First Fridays friends.”
Wilson served in the Air Force for four years as a crew chief and, after he was discharged, Wilson took up a job as a welder and fabricator. After realizing that he wasn’t receiving the opportunities that he’d once hoped for, he applied to Harrison College and graduated with an associate and bachelors degree in business management.
Through his dedication to growth, Wilson is now a manager at Indiana Michigan Power where he works to support over 600,000 customers across Indiana and Michigan.
Additionally, he is dedicated to giving back to his community. He works with Veteran’s Connect 211, an organization dedicated to building awareness around the benefits available to Veterans.
Attendees are encouraged to park in the south parking garage and to wear their name badges from their place of employment. Before and after the event, auditorium will be available for networking.
