IWU has announced that it will offer a tuition discount and transfer in credits for Midstate College students who are left searching for options after Midstate College announced that it was shutting down its academic operations.
To help Midstate College students impacted by the for-profit university’s recent closure, IWU has agreed to transfer in undergraduate Midstate College quarter hours that were earned for 100-level or higher courses for which the student earned a grade of “C” or higher. Midstate College quarter hours are converted into semester hours using a two-thirds ratio.
IWU will accept the transfer of all Midstate College graduate-level quarter hours with a grade of "C" or higher. Courses will be evaluated by the appropriate academic department for equivalency in the program. Midstate College students can transfer in 75% of IWU's graduate program requirements, substantially reducing IWU's graduate residency requirement. However, students must meet all graduation requirements in order to confer an IWU degree.
Through August 2020, IWU is also offering Midstate College students a 15-percent tuition discount on all degrees offered through IWU–National & Global.
Students who are interested in learning more about IWU’s online or onsite degree programs may begin their transfer process by calling 1-866-498-4968. Midstate College, based in Peoria, Ill., announced in July that, more than 160 years after its founding, it was ceasing operations at the end of the summer 2019 term on Aug. 16, 2019.
