We’re always excited to hear about the adventures our alumni experience after leaving Wildcat Country! We’re delighted to share about an exciting opportunity for alumni Chris (‘04) and Melissa (‘05) George as they travel with their three kids from their home in Australia to the United States for the 2019 Little League World Series Intermediate Division.
The George family isn’t traveling to California just to support the Australian contender, but to cheer on their family as well. Melissa and Chris’s son, Dawson, will be representing Australia in the series, hoping to bring home the title of Little League World Series Intermediate Champion. Dawson plays for the Perth Metro North Intermediate League Team, where Chris also serves as a coach.
The George family is dear to IWU’s heart, as Melissa served as a student worker in the School of Theology and Ministry. In 2003, Melissa and Chris traveled to Perth, Australia to lead a short-term mission trip. After their trip, they followed the call of the Lord to minister to the people of Australia as full–time missionaries. In 2004, Chris and Melissa moved to Perth serving as church planters with Global Partners, where they have planted and continue to pastor a Wesleyan church.
We’re encouraged to hear about the world-changing work the George’s are doing for the Kingdom in Western Australia and their heart for missions, and we are excited to celebrate and cheer on Dawson and Chris as they continue to compete in the Little League World Series Intermediate Division. Congratulations, Dawson and Chris!
