Indiana Wesleyan University is pleased to announce it has a 97% career outcomes rate, which is 6% higher than the national average career outcomes rate for private institutions. A “career outcomes rate” measures those graduates who fall into one of the following five categories: employed full time, employed part time, volunteer service, military service or continuing education.
Additionally, IWU boasts a 100% career outcomes rate when students participate in Career Development’s Accelerate Indiana Internship Program during college. The program allows students the unique opportunity to intern at local Indiana businesses. Many employers take on interns with the hopes of turning them into a full-time employee.
IWU’s Career Development office plays a prominent role in connecting students with job positions. During the 2018-2019 academic year, the Career Development team:
- Hosted 3 job fairs with more than 270 student participants
- Conducted 620 individual student appointments
- Funded 53 internships with local employers
- Hosted 47 recruiters to connect students to employment opportunities
- Sent out weekly job and internship newsletter promoting 14,000+ position openings with approved employers
“The Career Development team at IWU is committed to preparing students for meaningful post-graduate employment,” said Tiffany Snyder, director of career development. “The career outcomes rate at IWU is about real stories of real students with meaningful plans – I am so proud of the ways that the Career Development team and IWU community support students in making those plans a reality.
The statistics presented resulted from data collected from the IWU Classes of 2017 and 2018.
