Indiana Wesleyan University will confer over 1,015 degrees on Saturday, Dec. 15 in two ceremonies in the Chapel Auditorium on the main Marion campus. The schedule for the commencement is as follows:
- 10 a.m. | All associates and bachelors degrees [excluding IWU-National & Global Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and IWU-National & Global Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)]
- 2 p.m. | All master’s degrees, doctorate degrees, IWU-National and Global BSN degrees, and IWU-National & Global BSW degrees
The commencement speaker for both ceremonies will be Darryn Scheske, founding pastor of Heartland Church in Indianapolis. Scheske is a third-generation pastor who inherited his love for people in the islands of the Caribbean where he was raised. Called by Converge MidAmerica in 2000, the Scheske’s moved to Indianapolis to start a new church. The church officially began in their living room in 2001 with 17 people. Today Heartland Church is attended by thousands of people in four locations in greater Indianapolis, and has launched twelve new churches across America.
Scheske holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Southeastern University. He is a passionate advocate for people to live purposeful, fulfilled lives of compassion and generosity. He has travelled the world extensively leading efforts to provide sustainable transformation in developing countries like Haiti, Sierra Leone and India.
Graduates will include the first students from the Master of Divinity with a major in Ministry and a specialization in Worship Arts.

IWU's next commencement ceremonies are scheduled for April 27, 2019.
