Indiana Wesleyan University expects to welcome more than 900 grandparents to campus as part of its 23rd annual Grandparents Day on Friday, Oct. 12.
Grandparents Day is an event that happens yearly on campus in order to pay tribute to the special relationships that exist between grandchildren and grandparents. It is also a day for grandparents to see firsthand what college is like for their grandchild.
Grandparents will enjoy a continental breakfast, learn more about IWU during a morning welcome session, attend chapel with their grandchild and enjoy a special variety show performance featuring students from the IWU Division of Music.
Other activities that grandparents can experience in their free time include:
- Family Photos
- Lunch
- Guided Bus Tour of Campus
- Informational Session on IWU’s Ron Blue Institute
- McConn Coffee Company
- IWU Bookstore
“Grandparents Day is one of my favorite days to be on campus,” said Krista Brown, associate director for alumni and parent relations. “The students are so excited to show their grandparents their home away from home. We are looking forward to a great day!”
