Indiana Wesleyan University is hosting more than 145 visitors on Monday, Feb. 19 for a Spotlight Visit Day featuring the Division of Music. Students will arrive at 9 a.m. and spend the entire day getting acquainted with the programs, faculty and community on the IWU residential campus in Marion, Indiana.
A Spotlight Visit Day is a special visit option designed for two types of students: 1) those who already know what they want to study and 2) those who may not be fully decided on a major, but are interested in learning more about a particular area of study. The day is tailor-made to give visitors quality time with the faculty and students in their specific area of interest.
Students attending the Spotlight Visit Day on Monday will take a tour of campus, eat lunch in Baldwin Dinning Hall, participate in a panel discussion with Music faculty, observe a rehearsal, and tour the 73,000-square-foot Phillippe Performing Arts Center, which includes a large auditorium, recital hall, practice rooms, classrooms and the Black Box Theatre.
Additionally, seniors and transfers will have the opportunity to audition for a $16,000 music scholarship ($4,000 each year renewable over four years of study). Please call the Division of Music at 765-677-2152 to schedule an audition time. For more details on the scholarship visit https://www.indwes.edu/undergraduate/division-of-music/auditions-and-scholarship.
The IWU Division of Music offers eight majors, including Music Therapy, which is the division’s largest major. Students who study within the division are immersed in Christ-centered discussions, rehearsals and relationships that develop them into the musicians God created them to be. Students have the opportunity to get involved with several ensembles, including IWU Chorale, IWU Orchestra, University Singers, IWU Wind Ensemble and more.
