Indiana Wesleyan University hosted the Citizens Advisory Council on Wednesday, Feb. 14 for its third quarter breakfast meeting in the Barnes Student Center. Forty local leaders were in attendance.
The Citizens Advisory Council is a group of leading Grant County citizens that meet quarterly for a 7:15 a.m. breakfast meeting on the IWU campus. Citizens Advisory Council provides an opportunity for IWU to engage Grant County leaders in thoughtful discussion, distribution of relevant and timely information, and solicit feedback on key issues being addressed in the Grant County community.
On Wednesday, Stephanie Hilton-Siebert, president and CEO of Marion General Hospital (MGH), was the featured speaker. She spent time highlighting several health challenges in Grant County and then provided a summary of what MGH is doing to address those needs. This includes staffing, innovation, expansion, education, partnerships and community engagement.
Dr. David Wright, president of IWU, also provided updates.
“It was a great opportunity to hear what this important organization is doing in our Grant County community,” said John Jones, interim chancellor, IWU-Marion.
