IWU hosts Spotlight Visit on Nursing

Indiana Wesleyan University is hosting over 250 visitors on Friday, Feb. 2 for a Spotlight Visit Day featuring the Division of Pre-licensure Nursing. Students will arrive at 9 a.m. and spend the entire day getting acquainted with the programs, faculty and community on the IWU residential campus in Marion, Indiana.

A Spotlight Visit Day is a special visit option designed for two types of students: 1) those who already know what they want to study and 2) those who may not be fully decided on a major, but are interested in learning more about a particular area of study. The day is tailor-made to give visitors quality time with the faculty and students in their specific area of interest.

Students attending the Spotlight Visit Day on Friday will take a tour of campus, eat lunch in Baldwin Dinning Hall, sit in on a class, and tour Ott Hall of Sciences & Nursing, a 110,000-square-foot building equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, technology and research areas for Nursing majors. Visitor will also tour the recently renovated Fortune Nursing Simulation Lab and participate in a Q&A panel with current Nursing students and faculty.

The IWU Division of Pre-licensure Nursing offers a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Students who study within the division are immersed in an environment where they learn to care for the whole person. A unique component of IWU nursing program is the transcultural experience requirement. Each student takes a transcultural theory course and participates in a transcultural practicum where they of work with an inner-city clinic, a health care center in an emerging nation or a subculture in North America.
