MLL Division hosts internship forum

Indiana Wesleyan University’s Division of Modern Language and Literature (MLL) is hosting a career internship panel discussion at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in Elder Hall. The event is designed to provide students with information on how to find and thrive in an internship.

Panelists will share experiences from their internships, give practical suggestions on how to find internship opportunities and provide tips on how to use an internship to determine a future career path. Panelists will include current students and alumni, such as:

  • Nate Milner, Internship Coordinator in IWU Career Development
  • Case Mazzoli ‘18, English major
  • Jessie Dion ‘19, English major
  • Abbey McLaughlin ‘18, English major
  • Olivia Jocson ’19, Strategic Communication and Writing

Written reports from MLL alumni Shelbi Tedeschi ‘17 and Megan Emily ‘15 will also be presented.

“In my experience, internships were a wonderful opportunity to learn what I didn't want to do as well as what I loved to do,” said Dr. Katie Karnehm, associate professor of English. “Internships give students a chance to put their classroom practice into effect as they meet deadlines and work with supervisors and colleagues. I hope this panel gives students direction for what internships will be most beneficial, and how to make the most of this opportunity.”

The internship forum will take place on IWU’s residential campus in Elder Hall in Room 143. It is free of charge and open to all majors.
