Marion Design Co., a creative studio and branch of Indiana Wesleyan University’s Division of Art + Design, will host a Night of Jazz at 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 on the downtown square in Marion, Indiana.
The two-hour event will feature music by Peter Luttrull, an Indianapolis-based saxophonist, composer and educator. He graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Classical Saxophone Performance, and went on to earn his master’s in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University. Luttrull is also an adjunct music professor at IWU.
“I’m excited about bringing a diverse crowd to the downtown and helping to expand their vision for future businesses that could serve our community with a new vibrancy!” said Wendy Puffer, co-founder of Marion Design Co. and Design for Social Impact program coordinator. “Marion has everything it needs to succeed and Friday night’s event will celebrate a few of our assets. The people who call Marion home have talents and gifts that generate energy from generous collaboration."
The event is free of charge. Paul’s Pie and healthy fare will be provided.
Marion Design Co. was co-founded in 2016 by two Indiana Wesleyan University Art + Design professors, Puffer and Herb Peterson, for the purpose of creating powerful design solutions that propel and empower the people of Marion. For more information on Marion Design Co., visit mariondesign.co.
