IWU to host business event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The DeVoe Division of Business at Indiana Wesleyan University will host the DeVoe Event for nearly 400 IWU Business alumni and students at 8:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. David Griffiths, a professor at the University of Whales Trinity Saint David. His address, titled “What’s the Value of the Human Advantage?,” will zero in on employability skills and how vital they are in obtaining the optimum job fit. Following the keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to attend various breakout sessions led by IWU Business alumni, including:

  • Luke Singer, Associate at Heidrick & Struggles
  • Ben Conner, CEO of Conner Insurance
  • Caleb Bullock, Business Development Manager at Somerset CPAs and Advisors
  • Lindsey Craig, VP and CEO at Sextons Creek
  • Dani Weaver, Financial Planner at E Six Thirteen

An Indy racecar adorned with IWU logos will be present and available for photo ops. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take van rides around the Indy 500 track.

“Both current students and alumni recognize the importance of networking,” said Dr. Harriet Rojas, chair, DeVoe Division of Business. “The DeVoe Event connects the current DeVoe students with former students to help them understand what life after college looks like and what they can do now to increase their worth to future employers after graduation.”
