IWU Creates New Position to Recruit Active-Duty Service Members and Veterans

Kenneth (KC) Haight

Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) announced today that it has hired Kenneth (KC) Haight as the Director of Military and Veteran Recruitment at Indiana Wesleyan University.

He will begin his new role on June 16 and will work out of IWU’s Louisville Education Center.

In this newly created position, Haight will be responsible for recruiting active-duty service members and veterans for the adult enrollment program at IWU’s National and Global Campus.

“It was as if God was pointing me to Indiana Wesleyan,” he said. “I am so impressed with the school. They are truly military friendly at a very deep level, and they have the leadership that believes in that dynamic. I am highly enthusiastic about reaching out to military students and connecting with them.”

A 23-year retired U.S. Air Force noncommissioned officer, Haight served in various roles while in the Air Force including security and recruitment. Since his retirement from active service, Haight was the director of military relations and then the associate vice president of military and corporate development at Ashford University in San Diego, Calif. Prior to that, he helped develop military communities at the University of Phoenix and DeVry University while living in Mesa, Ariz.

“KC has an extensive record of military recruitment at several universities,” said R. David Rose, vice president of enrollment and marketing for the National and Global Campus of IWU. “We are blessed to have a leader with such an extensive background serving our country and our service men and women.”

IWU is recognized by G.I. Jobs magazine as a “Military Friendly School,” and Washington Monthly ranks IWU in the top 10 of the best four-year colleges in the country for adult learners. IWU offers specific financial assistance for active-duty military students and their spouses, including discounted tuition for many of IWU’s adult and graduate programs offered online and onsite through IWU’s regional education centers located throughout Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

IWU also extends a 10-percent tuition discount to veterans who have exhausted their Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits or veterans who are no longer eligible for those benefits.

“I am excited to continue to build the military community at Indiana Wesleyan University,” Haight said. “My goal is to prepare our nations’ protectors for the day when their uniform comes off. I take great pride in that.”

Haight has a Bachelor of Science in business from The University of Phoenix and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.

He is married to Marilyn, and they have two adult children, Brandon and Michael, and three grandchildren, Adison, Abram and Emalyn. He lives in Evansville, Ind.
