The Indiana Wesleyan University men’s basketball team has a special halftime surprise in store for their first Crossroads League game on Friday night. IWU, ranked No. 2 in NAIA Division II, will play defending national champion and No. 1 ranked Cornerstone University. To bring even more excitement to the match, all IWU residential students who attend the season opener will be eligible to win a $12,000 tuition or cash giveaway at halftime.
Students who show their ID at the door will receive a ticket upon admittance. At halftime, a ticket will be drawn and that student will have the opportunity to win the giveaway. The contestant will attempt to successfully make a layup, free throw, three-point shot and half-court shot within the 25 seconds allotted on the game shot clock.
Spectators will also have the opportunity to win a VIP ticket to IWU’s Friday Night Live show. Judges will award the VIP ticket to the student wearing the best costume.
"Everybody is excited to kick off the season,” said Greg Tonagel, men’s head basketball coach. “Add to that the magnitude of this match-up and it brings a whole new level of energy. This is a great opportunity for our school and community to pack Luckey with Wildcat support!"
To cheer on the men’s basketball team and participate in the prize giveaways, join the Wildcats in Luckey Arena on Friday night at 6 p.m.
