Indiana Wesleyan University had the privilege of hosting Joni Eareckson Tada on Oct. 16-17 as part of the institution’s Hope in the Midst of Suffering Conference. Through seminars, workshops and panel discussions, the event focused on exploring ways in which Christ followers can become equipped to minister to hurting and marginalized communities around the world. Tada, founder and CEO of Joni and Friends, has lived in a wheelchair for over 45 years and has a passion for disability advocacy. As part of the conference, she spoke in chapel on Friday about her Journey with Jesus and the implication for all marginalized people.
Tada’s vision is to mobilize the church in declaring and demonstrating the Gospel to persons with disabilities. To learn more about her ministry, visit http://www.joniandfriends.org/.
