Dr. Grant Wacker, professor at Duke Divinity School and author of the highly anticipated book "America's Pastor: Billy Graham and the Shaping of a Nation," will be visiting Indiana Wesleyan University on March 17 as a featured speaker for the President's Author Series.
The event is hosted by the President's Office in collaboration with the John Wesley Honors College in order to facilitate broader conversations about Christ and culture across the campus and local community. A recently published text that highlights the interconnection between faith and public life is featured at the event each semester, and the author is invited to campus to dialogue about his or her book. Previous authors have included Miroslav Volf, Yale Divinity School; Jean Bethke Elshtain, The University of Chicago Divinity School; Marry Ann Glendon, Harvard Law School; and Philip Jenkins, Baylor University.
Wacker's recently published book is a biography on Graham's ascent to becoming a renowned and respected figure among the Christian community. The text has received impressive reviews from publications such as the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
The JWHC event is free of charge and open to the public. It will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place in the Globe Theatre in the Barnes Student Center on IWU's residential campus.
