Indiana Wesleyan University and Ambassador Enterprises are working together to offer Passport to Innovative Education, a professional development program for emerging leaders in education.

Passport to Innovative Education is an innovative program offering unique instruction and collaborative learning for teachers in their first five years of education, emphasizing character development experience that educators can build into their classes.

The program features a one-week institute held at The Summit in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where teachers will receive instruction and participate in collaborative learning with other educators, as well as a ten-day global study tour of education systems outside the US. A weekend follow-up session offers collaboration and reflection, and a special online community offers an opportunity for emerging educational leaders to collaborate from a distance.

Through the program, participants may earn up to 9 hours of graduate level credit from Indiana Wesleyan University. This summer's program focuses on character development experiences; the global study tour will take participants to England, Scotland and Ireland.

"As a result of taking part in Passport to Innovative Education, teachers will impact students to become interested in character development issues in addition to academic skills," said Dr. Brad Oliver, Associate Dean for the IWU School of Educational Leadership.

The School of Educational Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University provides Christ-centered education programs that address the spiritual and professional challenges of P-12 educators and leaders by providing them with an integrated experience of character, scholarship, and leadership development.
