Learn the fundamentals of Python, one of the most popular and fastest growing programming languages in the world. Start by building applications that expose you to programming principles and ultimately build a simple, yet functional, computer game using Python. As you learn to program you will also have the opportunity to discover more about Computer Science and some careers in the area that could be right for you.

Total Registration Cost: $455

  • Base Cost: $405
  • Registration Fee (non-refundable): $50

Cost includes resident hall lodging, three meals a day, snacks, and all major aspects of the camp. Our dining hall has many options for those with food allergies. However, we encourage you to bring appropriate snacks since not all snack options will meet all dietary needs.

Note: The $50 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. No student will be considered registered until they have submitted this fee. Balance of tuition and fees are due by May 31, 2023. Any registrations after June 1, 2023 will incur an additional $50 late registration fee.

MEET THE CAMP DIRECTOR

Andre Fonteles

André Fonteles, PhD.

Dr. André Fonteles joined Indiana Wesleyan University's Division of Mathematics and Computer Information Sciences in 2018. After being blessed with a scholarship from the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, he spent 5 years in France where he obtained his doctoral degree in Computer Science from Université Grenoble-Alpes; Dr. Fonteles also worked as a full-time lecturer and researcher for one year at the university. He spent another six months as a post-doctoral researcher at Université de Pau et Pays de l’Adour.

His technical and research interests include recommender systems, context-sensitiveness, software adaptation, mobile computing and app development. His experience in Computer Science focuses on crowdsourcing systems, mobile and context-aware applications and recommender systems. Dr. Fonteles is independent app developer who has had his apps downloaded by users more than 500,000 times.
