An integrative and collaborative week-long art intensive held on the Marion, Indiana campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Indiana Wesleyan University Division of Art + Design is excited to offer its first-ever Summer Art Camp as a part of the Wildcat Summer Academy. This camp is designed for artists of various mediums at the high school level who are hoping to spend an intensive week focusing on their artistic ability while receiving critical feedback and input from IWU Art + Design faculty and students. Campers will have the opportunity to create original work over the course of the week that will be displayed during the final reception on Friday night.

During the week, campers can expect to spend a great amount of time creating through various mediums such as drawing, painting, digital design, and photography. Aside from spending time working on honing their craft as an individual artist, campers will be encouraged to collaborate with other visual artists, as well as musicians and actors.

Outside of studio time, campers will have the opportunity for classroom-style learning by IWU Art + Design faculty. The classes may range from an introduction to art history, introduction to studio art, or a class all about how to view art.

Campers are encouraged to sign up for private studio time during their week at the Wildcat Summer Academy. This one-on-one studio time will be offered by various Art + Design faculty and upper-division students, but is available for limited subjects and on a limited basis. Please contact the Art + Design camp director, Master Davy Chinn at davy.chinn@indwes.edu, for more details. (N.B. Private study is an additional cost.)

This camp is a residential camp, meaning that students will stay in residence halls on campus, eat meals in Baldwin Dining Hall, and remain on campus for the duration of the week. Meals, lodging, and all major camp activities are included in the overall cost of the camp.
