If you answered YES, then this is the Wildcat Summer Camp experience for you! This summer, join Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication, Dr. Jen Bennett in a unique, one-of-a-kind social media camp experience where you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to be different and influence people in a crowded social world.
You’ve probably heard the well-known phrase by Benjamin Franklin, “It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, but only one bad one to lose it.” During your social media camp experience, you’ll learn the ins and outs of building and cultivating an excellent social media presence that positively impacts and influences the lives of others, while also opening doors of opportunity for you!
Throughout the week you’ll learn:
- What it really means to be an online influencer (and it’s not based on viral videos, numbers,
or popularity) - How to confidentially step into your unique voice and thought leadership
- How to not fall into the social media comparison trap
- Why building a personal brand right now is a must
The outcome? You’ll have an online social media presence/personal brand that showcases who God created you to be and one that will open doors of opportunity for you!
REGISTRATION
Total Registration Cost: $425
- Base Cost: $375
- Registration Fee (non-refundable): $50
Cost includes resident hall lodging, three meals a day, snacks, and all major aspects of the camp. Our dining hall has many options for those with food allergies. However, we encourage you to bring appropriate snacks since not all snack options will meet all dietary needs.
Note: The $50 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of registration. No student will be considered registered until they have submitted this fee. Balance of tuition and fees are due by May 31, 2023. Any registrations after June 1, 2023 will incur an additional $50 late registration fee.
MEET THE CAMP DIRECTOR
Jen Bennett, Ed.D
As a Strategic Communication higher education leader who enjoys teaching, leading, and building, Dr. Bennett’s passion is to empower and encourage college students to build strong foundations that will help them stand out in the marketplace. Dr. Bennett’s teaching philosophy centers on giving students opportunities for practical learning and application through authentic experiences.
Dr. Bennett has had the opportunity to train and work with a recognized Forbes Top 10 Social Media Influencer. Additionally, she has taught and trained a variety of entrepreneurs, small business owners, ministries, organizations, and college students on social media, marketing, and public relations. Dr. Bennett was recently chosen as one of 55 social media influencers (out of 700 applicants) to attend #NASASocial for the Falcon Heavy Rocket Launch. She is also the author of the book, “#BeWorthFollowing: How to be Different and Influence People in a Crowded Social World.”
