Post-Event Update
Indiana Wesleyan Athletics celebrated 30 years of the Jack & Marge Colescott last Thursday, at Arbor Trace Golf Club. Indiana Wesleyan University student-athlete recipients this year were Emma Travis and Owen Perkins.
“What an amazing day we had for the 30th Annual IWU Athletics Jack and Marge Colescott Golf Scramble,” said Director of Athletics Mark DeMichael. “We are grateful for the many people who have given themselves over the last 30 years to make this special event possible and sustainable. An extra special thank you to the Colescott family for allowing us to partner with them and name this event after Jack and Marge.”
Travis and Perkins each received a $2,500 athletic scholarship during the lunch presentation between the morning and afternoon golf rounds. The annual event has raised over $1 million in athletic scholarships over the 30-year history of the tournament, which has become a staple of Indiana Wesleyan Athletics. The two scholarships are awarded to a male and female student-athlete from Indiana Wesleyan that live in Grant County.
In a private ceremony Friday, the Jack & Marge Colescott Committee gifted the Colescott Family a new display honoring the history of the event. The display is located inside the lobby of the Recreation and Wellness Building on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.
