The 2017 IMTA State Conference will be held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, September 29th-30th.

Join us for an exciting lineup of diverse sessions, as well as the opportunity to visit with other collegiate faculty members, independent music teachers, and students from across the state.

All sessions will be held in the Phillipe Performing Arts Center, home to the Division of Music at Indiana Wesleyan University. Facilities boast 70,000 square feet of classroom and performing space, in addition to a 1,155-seat auditorium.

Award-winning pianist Aviram Reichert will perform a solo recital and present an advanced piano masterclass. Reichert is a former medalist of the prestigious Van Cliburn International Competition. You won’t want to miss these events!

Dr. Kevin Olson

We are pleased to announce Dr. Kevin Olson as our featured clinician for this year’s conference, presenting sessions, as well as an intermediate piano and composition masterclass. Dr. Olson is a faculty member at Utah State University, as well as a widely respected pianist, composer, and educator.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. David Wright, president of Indiana Wesleyan University will deliver the keynote address during the Friday evening banquet.

Marc Wooldridge

IMTA 2017 Commissioned Composer

Dr. Marc Wooldridge, currently a professor of percussion and music theory at Indiana Wesleyan University, will premiere a new composition for percussion ensemble.

Parking & Directions

Parking directions to the Philippe Performing Arts Center

Free parking is available to guests in the large lot east of the Phillippe. Additional parking is to the south of the Phillippe across University Boulevard.

Driving directions to the PPAC

The Phillippe is located just inside the east entrance of campus off of South Adams Street. From SR-15 (South Adams Street), enter campus at the main east entrance (just north of East 45th Street) by turning west onto University Boulevard. At the "T" intersection 100 yards ahead, turn left and follow University Boulevard a short distance before turning right (north) into the parking lot. The Phillippe is straight ahead, on the west end of the lot. See it on the map.

IMTA Members: $80

Non-Members: $95

Students (with banquet and luncheon meals): $25
