Marion Campus
UPDATE:
The state of Indiana is moving toward the elimination of the state-wide mask mandate as of April 6th. The Governor has empowered local county government officials and health officers to determine the extent to which the mandate would, or would not be, in effect within their communities. Grant County has decided to keep the mask mandate in effect for all K-12 schools, as well as colleges/universities through at least April 30. Indiana Wesleyan University's residential campus will maintain our current mask requirements based on the local requirements along with the desire to keep our community safe as we finish the academic semester. Visitors to campus will be asked to adhere to the mask requirement at this time.
Indiana Wesleyan University seeks to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in a manner that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all students, employees, and campus visitors, while furthering the University’s mission, vision, and values. To that end, the IWU-Marion COVID Response Plan has been developed (and is regularly reviewed and updated) with guidance from government agencies, public health officials, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The IWU-Marion COVID Response Plan was developed by the IWU COVID-19 Taskforce (listed below), which is chaired by the Vice President of Operations and includes representatives from Student Development, Academic Affairs, Risk Management, School of Nursing, School of Health Sciences, and Wildcat Health Clinic. In an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19 on the IWU-Marion campus, the Taskforce has identified 5 stages of response that will be implemented as needed (depending on the number of positive cases on campus) for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The protocols included in the IWU-Marion COVID Response Plan are subject to change as leadership continues to monitor COVID-19 conditions and receives recommendations from state and local officials.
Wildcat Values
- The IWU-Marion COVID-19 Response Plan was developed in order to inform members of our community of protocols necessary to promote healthy behaviors. This plan is reflective of two Wildcat Values: kindness (being friendly, generous, considerate, and respectful of others) and humility (putting others first and having the attitude of Christ).
- Anyone who does not abide by IWU-Marion COVID-19 Response Plan places others in our community at risk and may be subject to disciplinary measures.
