Indiana Wesleyan University partners with PLS 3rd Learning to provide graduate-level courses at onsite locations throughout Indiana and online, providing educators a convenient avenue to take courses for professional improvement and/or license renewal. IWU and PLS 3rd Learning have worked diligently to ensure that all courses are aligned with The Indiana RISE Evaluation System for Teachers.

Through the PLS 3rd Learning courses, IWU provides professional development topics ranging from school development and implementing professional learning communities to coaching and ONGOING professional development. The investment in R&D related to teacher resources and tools has resulted in PLS 3rd Learning creating an extensive library of instructional material that spans all content areas. PLS 3rd Learning is able to map these resources to state level learning standards so that teachers can quickly find a wide variety of resources for their curricular area (lesson plans, assessment items, worksheets, web manipulatives, etc.). Take advantage of the high quality professional development at PLS 3rd Learning with a nationwide network of top-level instructors and consultants.

IMPORTANT: PLS 3rd Learning courses are stand-alone courses only and are not eligible to apply toward any degree or professional preparation program at IWU.

Each course is 3 credit hours at the graduate level and are approved for renewal requirements of your Indiana teaching license.

Here's what teachers have said about their experience with the Multiple Intelligences Course:

This course has opened my eyes to even more careful planning to ensure the use of MI theory in my teaching. I have a notebook full of concrete plans and ideas to help me become an even better teacher and person. Thank you for providing a rich resource of Internet sites and books for future use in our professional careers and classrooms. I will spread the good word about a course that shouldn't be missed.

Christine Zurkowski, High School Teacher
Harford County, Maryland

I think the online approach is a great way to take a course. The immediate feedback keeps everyone looking for more. I found I couldn't go a night without checking for new messages!

Robyn Stevenson, Middle School English Teacher
Vernon, New Jersey

My students have already noticed the change within our classroom and this has truly been the reassurance that I needed to do more integrating of MI theory into my daily instruction. I have enjoyed all of the dialogue throughout the course. I felt sometimes like we were sitting in a comfortable setting discussing awesome ideas.

Kendal Brue, Middle School Special Education Teacher
Batesville, Indiana

I have so enjoyed taking an online class and the convenience of being at home! I feel I have grown in using the computer. The centers, portfolios, and integrated theme applications and examples really have given me food for thought and room to grow!
