The Ohio Reading Certiﬁcate program was designed for Ohio educators seeking to fulﬁll certiﬁcation in the area of Reading Education, resulting in the ability of the Ohio Educator to apply for a K-12 Reading Endorsement through the Ohio Department of Education. The program is aligned to the national program standards published by the International Reading Association and the standards for the Ohio Reading Endorsement program. Candidates to this program will receive advanced training in Scientiﬁcally-Based Reading Research, with an emphasis placed on reading intervention, including assisting students with dyslexia through a multisensory approach.

The accreditation covers advanced educator preparation programs. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel.
