Overview of the Hybrid Master of Arts in Sports Leadership Program

Are you making a game plan for your career? Your next move could be a degree in sports leadership. IWU’s Master of Arts in Sports Leadership program will help you turn your passion for sports into a career that will keep you in the game for years to come.

You don’t need a background or prior education in sports management. Whether you’ve been an athlete or a business professional, this program will prepare you for a growing area that involves more than just the field or court. You’ll graduate with the skills and knowledge to lead in the sports and recreation industry.

Our Online + Onsite hybrid program in Indianapolis gives you the flexibility of online courses with the network and experiences of an in-person program. Our degree is the only one of its kind that lets you learn in a flexible format. With two onsite intensives per year, you'll engage in hands-on projects across Indianapolis and build a network of like-minded leaders.

This unique hybrid format means you don’t need to pause your life to earn this degree.

Applicable fees for resources and services will be assessed throughout the program. Tuition and fees for prerequisites and required elective courses are in addition to the charges shown on the program cost sheet. Your tuition rate will remain the same as long as you remain continuously enrolled in the same program. Onsite Intensives

Your onsite experiences in Indianapolis will be held two times per year (August and January). These intensives include opportunities like face-to-face interaction with professional sports leaders, quality time with peers in your sports leadership cohort, work experience in a professional sports context, and fun organized activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A baccalaureate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 in all undergraduate work.

  • All 30 credits required in the curriculum sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of "C" in each course. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 in all IWU graduate work.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
