Turn your past credit hours, your EdS degree, or your doctorate degree into a Doctor of Education. Completing your EdD will expand your career opportunities – and you can complete the program in as few as 20 months. Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared for a role in teaching and administration in P-12 or higher education, educational policy, education/training in businesses, consulting, or action research. TUITION
30 Total
Applicable fees for resources and services will be assessed throughout the program. Tuition and fees for prerequisites and required elective courses are in addition to the charges shown on the program cost sheet. Your tuition rate will remain the same as long as you remain continuously enrolled in the same program. REQUIREMENTS

- An Education Specialist Degree (EdS), or 30 or more doctoral level credits (700 level or above) with an education focus.
- The EdS degree or 30 hours of doctoral work must be from a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Degrees must be verified on original transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University. All courses should have been taken for a grade.
- GPA of 3.0 in all previous doctoral work.
- Submission of all documents required by the Admissions Selection Committee and approval by the committee for admission into the program.
- Completion of all classes with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and minimum grade of B- in each course. A grade of C+ or below will require the course to be repeated.
- Successful defense of doctoral action research dissertation and approval of written dissertation by committee chair.
- Payment of all tuition and fees, including publication of APA-compliant dissertation to Proquest, is required to receive a diploma.
- Candidate may participate in commencement after successful defense and completion of any postdefense content editing but prior to publication.
Action Research
Students will complete Action Research as a part of this program. The action research will focus on an issue or problem from the student's own environment (school, work, etc.). The student will complete each phase of the project along side of the course work. At the end of the course work, the student will have a completed Action Research Dissertation. Students must complete each required section of the action research project in order to pass the academic course.
