Overview of the Hybrid Human Services Life Coaching Program

The Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Life Coaching will prepare you to empower others to achieve personal and professional success. IWU offers:

Our Online + Onsite hybrid in Kokomo gives you the flexibility of online courses with the network and experiences of an in-person program. The B.S. in Human Services - Life Coaching program at IWU's Kokomo Thriving Center lets you learn online, while also facilitating one onsite intensive per class where you'll build a network of like-minded leaders and engage in hands-on experiential learning together.

This unique hybrid format means you don’t need to pause your life to earn this degree.

Tuition and fees for prerequisites and required elective courses are in addition to the charges shown on the program cost sheet. Your tuition rate will remain the same as long as you remain continuously enrolled in the same program. When will we meet onsite?

Have you ever experienced a long assignment in school where you thought, "If I could just talk this out with someone, it would make a lot more sense”?

In this program, you get the best of both worlds. You'll do much of your work in a flexible, online format, and during each class listed above, you'll meet once with your class at the Kokomo Thriving Center for in-person discussion, practice, and networking. (General education classes will be fully online.)

In-person components will be scheduled once during each class and take place on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kokomo Thriving Center in Kokomo, Indiana.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proof of high school graduation or GED certification.
  • Original transcripts from all previous college or university study at a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Prior completion of at least 60 transferable credit hours is required before the student is eligible to start a bachelor core program.

  • Completion of 120 semester hours.
  • Overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Completion of the required core courses with a GPA of 2.25 or higher.
  • Completion of 30 hours of general education as specified in IWU Catalog (General Education Requirements).
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.

BS Human Services – Life Coaching - Licensure Disclosure

The Bachelors of Science Degree with a major in Human Services (with a Specialization in Life Coaching) program at Indiana Wesleyan University seeks to prepare program graduates for certification and service in the Life Coaching profession.  Certification per the International Coaching Federation (ICF) does not vary by state.  To be eligible to participate in the credentialing process, the graduate must

  • complete a minimum of 100 client hours (75 paid coaching hours)
  • 25 of the 100 coaching hours must take place within 18 months of submitting the application for the credentialing process
  • coaching must involve at least eight clients
  • successful completion of ICF Credentialing examination

Students receive certification after successfully completing the above requirements and after passing the ICF Credentialing exam.

Requirements do not vary by state. Life Coaching Certifications granted by the International Coaching Federation are recognized nationally and internationally.
