A.S. to M.S. in Management

 

Overview

ONLINE OR ONSITE

Students in the Master of Science with a major in Management program synthesize organizational management knowledge and skills, analyze internal and external business environments and formulate relevant business and communication strategies and solutions needed to ethically lead, plan, organize and control organizations. Students develop their own personal management capabilities and integrate a biblical framework that guides interactions within the business environment and workplace.

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Synthesize organizational management knowledge and skills needed to lead, plan, organize and control.
  2. Evaluate personal management capabilities and design a plan for continual growth.
  3. Analyze internal and external business environments and formulate relevant strategies and solutions.
  4. Apply ethical theories and concepts to business decisions and solutions.
  5. Implement appropriate communication strategies to achieve organization goals.
  6. Integrate a biblical framework that guides interactions with the business environment and workplace.

The total cost of the program, including tuition, books, eBooks, and fees, will be determined prior to your enrollment. The cost will be divided into several payments spread over the course of the program. Course textbooks will be shipped to you before each course begins. The cost of books increases for shipments outside of the 48 contiguous United States.


The total credit hours and per-credit-hour costs listed above are effective for the core program. For prerequisite or other required courses if applicable, students will need to pay for appropriate tuition, books, and any additional fees. Costs may change if you withdraw from the program and restart in a future program at a later date.

Requirements

Admission Requirements

  1. An associate’s degree, verified on original transcripts sent directly to IWU by the institution, from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting organization or the Association for Biblical Higher Education, or an associate’s degree, verified on original transcripts sent directly to IWU by the institution, from an Indiana Wesleyan University approved institution currently accredited by another accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  2. An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher from the associate degree granting institution. If an applicant's GPA is below 3.0, the student may be admitted on a probationary basis, as established by the guidelines of the DeVoe School of Business.
  1. Before starting the graduate MSM courses, students must complete an undergraduate bridge program of 24 credit hours.
  2. A grade of "B" or higher must be earned in the bridge courses.
  3. Students may not transfer undergraduate credits earned from other institutions.
  4. Students may elect to transfer out of AS-MSM into other IWU undergraduate programs. Classes taken in the AS-MSM can apply toward a program of study in another program as appropriate, if the minimum grade requirement for that program has been meet.

Graduation Requirements

  1. All credits required in the MSM curriculum sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
  2. Overall GPA of 3.0 in all IWU graduate work.
  3. Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.

Application Procedures

To be considered for admission to the Associate to Masters of Science in Management degree program, complete each of the following steps. For more information, call 866-498-4968 to speak with a Program Representative.

  1. Application

    Apply online at www.indwes.edu.

  2. Transcripts

    MSM: Official transcripts are required from the baccalaureate degree-granting institution and any graduate work if IWU is accepting transfer credits. Indiana Wesleyan University will accept for its permanent file only those transcripts sent directly to IWU by the registrar of the attended institution(s). Official transcripts must exhibit the official seal and signature of the registrar. Transcripts that are stamped “student copy,” “issued to student,” or “unofficial” cannot be accepted as official.

    College Transcripts from Non-U.S. Schools: For college transcripts from non-U.S. schools, secure a “Course-by-Course Report” from Educational Credential Evaluators (see www.ece.org). Be sure to request that the report be sent directly to Indiana Wesleyan University. The evaluation must list course-by-course hours and grades. Note: Additional third party evaluators can be considered from an approved list and in some cases and internal international transcript evaluation can be done.
