Why You Should be Thinking About FAFSA

The FAFSA is important. But why? And what do you need to know about it? Wherever you are in the college application process, we’ve put together a list of things you need to know.

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. If you’re hoping to get financial assistance with college, you’ll definitely need to fill out this application, and you can even do it before you’re accepted at your college of choice.

Don’t wait to prioritize the FAFSA. Here are a few tips to help you with the next steps:

  1. Look up all of your relevant FAFSA deadlines and put them in your calendar or planner. Find your federal and state FAFSA deadlines.
  2. Get your FSA ID at the ed.gov website.
