Indiana Wesleyan University's onsite or online Business Information Systems degree program is designed for working professionals who are employed in businesses or public organizations. The curriculum enables graduates to assist and lead in the planning, development, and operation of information systems. Such systems are used to streamline and automate processes, solve problems, and provide communication channels.
The program stresses skill development in the areas of analytical thinking, information technology, communication, object-oriented programming, database management systems, networking, security and web development, with an emphasis on developing the skills necessary for successfully implementing and supporting computer and information systems. Java programming, visual basic and .NET programming are covered. Additionally, the program helps develop the skills necessary to serve as a liaison between management and information technology departments.
Graduates of this program may find employment as database administrators, systems analysts, computer support analysts or programmer-analysts.
The undergraduate program may be completed online or onsite at our Christian university locations in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. A minor in Information Technology is also available to Indiana and online students who are pursuing a non-Business Information Systems Bachelor's degree through IWU.
If you have not yet obtained your Associate degree but already have 36 to 59 credit hours of previous college coursework, IWU's unique degree completion program can allow you to immediately start working toward your Bachelor's degree.
