A SOLUTION FOR TODAY, A PATH FOR THE FUTURE.

Due to COVID-19, Indiana’s 78,153 educators bravely stepped into a new chapter of their teaching career practically overnight by using digital means to instruct their students, many without prior training or knowledge of digital tools and best practices.

Through GEER funding, IWU is developing a pathway that allows educators to be equipped with the skills most needed to teach online during a pandemic and into the future of e-learning, while also providing a series of credentials to help interested teachers continue their education.

ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS
FUNDED BY THE GEER GRANT

Don’t miss these scholarship opportunities that can help your educators earn badges and micro-credentials for free! Additional badges can be purchased at little to no cost. Badge completion counts toward Indiana's required Professional Growth Plan points. View all micro-credential and badge descriptions.

  • Three (3) micro-credential scholarships (approximately 18-21 badges) per school district in the state of Indiana
  • Three (3) additional micro-credential scholarships for Indiana Small and Rural Schools Association members (ISRSA)
  • Three (3) additional micro-credential scholarships for free and reduced lunch school districts (50% or more free and reduced)

Each badge costs $99; however, through the GEER grant, all school corporations in the State of Indiana qualify for a minimum of 21 badges for FREE, which is a $2,100 value. These badges plus a one-credit application course lead to course credit at IWU.

PATHWAYS AT IWU + STACKABLE CREDENTIALS

Expand Your District’s Skills. Invest in the future of your school district through targeted training for any level. You can start small with badges. Earning 5-7 badges leads to the completion of a micro-credential in online teaching and learning. Badges give skills and knowledge in areas that will help prepare for the virtual classroom environment. The micro-credentials can set up your educators to continue learning with a certificate, master’s, and post-master’s programs should they choose to proceed into IWU’s stackable pathway. Ready to jump in and go big? Teachers can enroll directly in a graduate certificate, Master’s, or EdS degree.

Consider this pathway to provide additional training and personal development to your educators in order to train up leaders and experts in online teaching. Not only are you helping your teachers be better prepared for the digital classroom, but you are investing in the future of your students with educators specifically trained to meet them in the ever-expanding world of e-learning.
