Transition-to-Nursing Application

If you currently hold a bachelor's degree in another field from any accredited institution of higher learning and are interested in becoming a nurse, then the Indiana Wesleyan University Transition to Nursing program is for you! This accelerated program offers you the opportunity to become a nurse in just 14 months.

The course of study requires 63 credit hours of nursing coursework and leads to a BSN. The classes are designed to provide a sound foundation in nursing skills and dispositions, and include leadership and nursing research in the clinical setting. This program also provides the foundation for the pursuit of graduate-level education.

This second-degree nursing program takes advantage of your academic track record and builds upon your past experiences. Transition to Nursing at IWU provides a realistic transition to the nursing profession in an expedited manner. Due to the rigorous nature of the program, students are strongly encouraged to not have outside employment while enrolled. On average, 94% of our TTN students complete their degree and graduate from IWU with a nursing degree.

This program is available at the IWU-Marion campus.

The TTN program is the most challenging thing I've ever done. It was also the most rewarding. I am so thankful for the program because now I can pursue my dream nursing career!” -Kelly Cocking

As a wife and mother of two small children, the TTN program at IWU offered me the opportunity to accelerate my studies and change my career in a short amount of time. It also provided me with the opportunity to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse with a BSN, while taking my previous education into consideration. It's a wonderful and empowering program.” -Heather Lane

The Transition to Nursing program at Indiana Wesleyan University provided me with the opportunity to shift my career focus into the nursing field while providing an accelerated, high quality, Christ-centered education.” -David Thrush

It was such a blessing to go through the nursing program at IWU. The support from the whole staff was incredible as well as the support we had as friends within our cohort. I will definitely be recommending the TTN program to others aspiring to be a nurse!” -Kelsey Bennett
“Being a part of the TTN program has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I have been able to see my dreams become a reality in a little over a year and do it with classmates who became my family.” -Jesse Smith

The TTN program was a fast, convenient, challenging, and rewarding experience; I would not have wanted to obtain my nursing degree any other way. You will grow to love your cohort and be so thankful for them by the end of the 14 months. I met friends that will last a lifetime in Cohort 10!” -Jessi Hosford

The hospital that I worked at in Key West said that I was the best new nurse they have ever had. I attribute that all to the amazing education that I got at IWU. I had more knowledge than many of the seasoned nurses. They had commented only after a few months of me working there that I should be the charge nurse. So, I thank you all so much for the skills that you gave to me at IWU. It was not easy, but it was well worth the stress!” -Shawn Camargo
